If I am not mistaken, this is actually a product called LanCity,
produced by a company called (oddly enough) LanCity Corporation. It
uses (I think) BroadBand technology to carry 10MB Ethernet over 2-way
CableTV, up to 35 Mile one way. It requires a Bridge at each site to
be connected, and one

HeadEnd Translator at the CableTV Headend. The Bridges, from LanCity,
run about 6K, The HeadEnd about 4K. If anyone is interested, you can
contact Tony DiSessa at tony@lancity.com. He can provife more Info.
We have a proposal out to fund a project to connect three local K-12
Schools to our campus network, and on out to Internet, using this
technology.
