We provide a similar service. We have a single helpdesk for all faculty, st=
aff, and students. We provide walk-in support, but not drop off support. We=
 remove viruses, help with network connectivity, will assist with reinstall=
ing the OS (they have to have their own disc or purchase it through the col=
lege at a discount), and do basic software support. We troubleshoot any iss=
ue and refer the student out to other vendors as necessary. We also do mobi=
le device support=85 setting up email, connecting to our wireless, etc. We =
will do basic printer troubleshooting and basic game console connectivity.

We do make room visits, but generally only to test and repair jacks or test=
 wireless strength.

I'd like to know what kind of ITS related  services other Colleges provide =
at their helpdesk for students?

For example: We connect students to the network, backup data and reinstall =
the OS (if they have their disks), remove viruses, stuff like that but very=
 little hardware.
