Let me add one voice of modest dissent here. One of the most difficult parts
of my job is to get real technical information about products before I purchase
them. (In fact, one of the valuable things about this forum is that I get to
absorb all of your net.experience "free," but that is a digression...)
So I can imagine that this forum could be used to distribute a vendor's
technical specs/technical replies to the benefit of the entire group. *Not*
sales-twaddle like the Farallon ad, mind you, but perhaps information
solicited from vendors that the group wants to know. How to do that? Posts by
vendors by specific invitation only?
