I questioned MIT about the infomercials when they first appeared on this
list (the only one to which I subscribe that gets them). Apparently,
such information probablly falls within the acceptable use policy as
currently interpreted.
However, I do find it intrusive and soemwhat offensive. Its not like
I don't get numerous mailings from these same firms and see their
products at EDUCOM and other events. If Farallon and Asante continue
(and especially if other firms join in), I will also unsubscribe to this
list.
I agree they are doing themselves more harm than good.
