Piping in as another voice from beyond the pale...assuming that the
utilities can be added, have you considered adding a student-run business
there? I think it would be really cool if something along the lines of the
old Coffeehouse could be brought back to that space, and I suspect generate
a lot of support from students.
Also, regarding the lounge idea, has the issue of TV's (loud space versus
quiet space) been discussed? I didn't see it mentioned in Betsy's otherwise
very comprehensive list, so I just wanted to mention it.
Cheers,
Paul
P.S. Hi, new Senators! I realize many of you don't know me. The really
brief introduction is that I used to be MIT Class of 2011, but transferred
to Notre Dame for personal/family reasons last year. I was in the UA the
entire time I was at MIT (2.5 years), serving in both Senate and Exec, and
was involved in many of the major issues of those time periods.
If you'd ever like an older perspective on things, feel free to shoot me an
email; I'm happy to talk about basically anything. I still love MIT and am
excited for the UA to make a difference this year -- but I also personally
feel that the Senate should be run by the current students, so I won't pipe
in too often.
