NetHack is a terminal based dungeon game in the tradition of Rogue. A
new NetHack server is going into production running NetHack 3.4.3.
Release notes for the 3.4.3 release can be found at:

  http://www.nethack.org/v343/release.html

In addition to the upstream version upgrade, the NetHack server is
running on upgraded hardware on a more reliable network and has several
bugfixes (the most visible being the terminal lossage on exit). Up to
date information about the local NetHack server, including high scores,
can be found at:

  http://nethack34.mit.edu
  (http://nethack.mit.edu after host table update)

To play, follow the instructions on the website. On Athena, you can do:

  athena% add outland
  athena% nethack

Old saved games and high scores are not preserved. The old server is
still on the net as nethack33.mit.edu, but is inaccessible for a while
because of srvtab problems. Once the old server is functional again,
it will be accessible with:

  athena% add outland
  athena% nethack-3.3.1
