The locker redhat-iso contains a collection of useful files
from the RedHat Linux distribution.
The subdirectory rpmdb/, which is probably the most useful,
has the databases of package information for the redhat 7.3
and redhat 9 distributions. One can query this database
using the rpm command, for example:
rpm -q --dbpath /mit/redhat-iso/rpmdb/9 \
--whatprovides libtimeconduit.so.0
which will tell you what package in redhat 9 contains the
"libtimeconduit.so.0" file (actually "capability") that you
might need. One can think of the database as a hypothetical
redhat system with all the packages installed.
The subdirectory iso/ contains the ISO 9660 CD images for
RedHat 9 ("shrike"). Note that if you want individual RPMs,
you can find them in /afs/athena/system/rhlinux and
/afs/dev/system/rhlinux.
The subdirectory doc/ contains the contents of the
documentation CD.
The subdirectory links-rpm/ contain symlinks to all the 9.0
RPMS and updates that are found elsewhere in AFS. Beware,
however, the links are maintained by hand, and may not
reflect the latest updates.
