I've updated Wordnet on Athena to release 1.7 for Sun/Linux/SGI.
Wordnet is a lexicographical database from Princeton University that
most closely resembles a thesaurus, although it also has features of a
dictionary an even an encyclopedia, and some unique ones that
are best experienced by trying it out. There is a text-only and a
graphical interface. To run the former:
add wordnet; wn <word> <options>
and the latter:
add wordnet; wnb
where <word> is a word being looked up and <options> is one or more of
many command-line options. There are man pages for wn and wnb (and
others for related utilities- look below /mit/wordnet_v1.7/man). Also
html documentation (start from http://web.mit.edu/www/wnb.htm) and various
READMEs (in the /mit/wordnet_v1.7 directory).
