I've updated the CHEMKIN chemical kinetics simulator on Athena to 4.1. To
run it:
add chemkin
chemkin
From my message to users:
CHEMKIN has been updated to 4.1, and this has been set as the Athena
default. 4.0.1 will still be available for a limited time by typing:
add chemkin
chemkin -ver 4.0
at the Athena prompt. Version 4.1 is fairly similar to 4.0, with a number
of functional enhancements. Release notes with the details are at
https://web.mit.edu/chemkin_v4.1/releasenotes_chemkin.html
As for 4.0, it will put local user configuration files below ~/chemkin
in your home directory- initially about 2.2 meg; these are mostly
examples and you can delete them if you want to save space. There are
no platform-specific subdirectories, just a common working area for
both Sun and Linux; CHEMKIN's data files are platform-independent so
you should be able to work interchangeably on either platform.
