Finboard raised the issue seperately. Much money is spent each semester in
Finboard allocations to send a capella groups to an outside source for
recording time. Some sort of deal between the groups could release money
for other groups. Finboard raised the issue in hopes that student money
could be used more efficiently and all groups would mutually benefit.
Please note that this only affects money distributed by Finboard.
The binding clause and threat of removing Finboard funding ensures that:
a) Everyone involved takes this issue seriously
b) A resolution actually occurs
c) The resolution sticks
The ASA President is also VP of the Toons, and so a non-ASA arbiter was
determined to be more legitimate, which is one reason that this issue was
not given to the ASA to handle.
Hope that helps,
Steve
