"How to Register as a Special Student"
1. Go to DuPont on your bike. Tell them, "I just became a special
student officially a couple of days ago. No one has told me
anything abouat what I need to do to register as a special student.
What do I do?"
They will tell you to go all the way across campus to e19 to the
registrar's office to get a registration packet.
2. Go to the registrar's office. At least use a bike, but try not to
sweat too much in the unbearable heat. Wait in line for ten
minutes, and then tell them, "I was sent here by the people in
DuPont to get a registration packet. I'm a special student this
term. I haven't filled out a packet yet."
They will tell you, "You need the blue clearance form from the
bursar's office." Tell them, "But no one mentioned to me anything
about any sort of clearance." They will respond, "Every special
student needs the blue clearance form."
3. Go to bursar's office, one floor down. The line will be about
thirty people long. Decide to just show up in class tomorrow and
put off registering until then.
4. Go to the Coop to buy your textbook. The line will be about sixty
people long. Decide to just borrow the book from someone for a day
and buy it when the lines are shorter.
And so, in total, what have you accomplished on Registration Day? A
big, fat nothing.
Sigh.
