While I'm not sure it's relevant to the actual effect, what I heard
about this was that the law was struck down because it required the
courts to determine what were, in fact, the correct religious beliefs of
a given religion/belief system. Do you know if this is really the deal,
and/or whether there's any effort to construct a law giving the same
protection without that particular assignment of power? Not that I know
how you'd do it.
