adwright, I'm not going to tell you to shut up. I am, however, going to
say a couple things I'd like you to think about.
I was raised in a communal household in Cambridge by a bunch of, er,
well, pinko socialist radical feminist left-wing weirdo draft-dodging
intellectual queer-lovers. I went on my first protest march when I was
less than a year old; I helped organize a walkout in my school when we
bombed Iraq; I've worked and argued for feminism and I'm bringing, so
far as I know, the first flaming queer queen into SIPB. My father
marched with Martin Luther King; my mother worked in a free school,
worked for Pat Schroeder's presidential campaign (do you even know the
name, Andrew?), was a midwife for ten years. Of my housemates one family
spent a year in Nicaragua working with the schools and helping to build
up cities the US forces there had pulled down; another couple is now in
Chile giving grants to clinics working on reproductive freedom for
women; one is working on creating on a truly egalitarian, non-classist,
non-sexist interpretation of Judaism, and she's damn well known for it;
a lot of 'em have been arrested for protesting one military action or
another. I can't begin to list what they've done.
But they've done a hell of a lot more for civil rights, for feminism,
for disarmament, for everything you say you care for than you have.
You're a sophomore at MIT and you live at Next House. So what I want to
know is
WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU GET OFF SPEWING YOUR OBSCENE, APATHETIC,
OFFENSIVE, GODDAMN USELESS SHIT ALL OVER THE REST OF US? SHUT YOUR
MOUTH, LEARN SOME REAL GODDAMN WORDS, AND GO OUT AND MAKE A FUCKING
DIFFERENCE. UNTIL THEN, GET OUT OF MY FACE, YOU SPOILED LITTLE BABY.
