This is not your standard crust... I saw some people playing ice
hockey on the tennis courts this evening, and there were apparently 
others skating on Briggs field this afternoon. I'll admit that it
is amusing to be able to jump up and down vigorously without
being able to break the crust, but those of us with vehicles 
are not saved from the necessity of shoveling, and it is made
ten times as difficult by the solidity of the crust.
A friend of mine actually had his car's engine freeze because of
this storm; the wind was strong enough to blow a large amount of
snow under the hood, which then proceeded to melt slightly and
later freeze solid. Fortunately, I haven't had anything seriously
bad happen to my car for over a year, although I'm sure it's
plotting some devious self-destruction...
