"Back in my day," lots of ex-grads and ex-didn't-grads used to hang out
in the Baker House lobby in various states of un-wash. "Lobby
vegetables" was the generic name for the species, and my pals and I
swore we'd never become one of 'em. On the plus side, we didn't. On
the minus side, working real hard not to deprived us of some
_legitimate_ opportunities to stay involved with a place and people we
really cared about.
I think the trick is knowing when to offer the fruits of your
experience, and when to let the young bucks have their day, just like
you did...
