I agree totally with you. The way I was raised, if it wasn't yours, you
did what you could to get it back to the rightful owner. It is very
depressing to see how people will filch whatever they see lying around.
For those of you who don't know, I run Sunday night LSC movies. Often
people leave wallets, etc behind. I always turn these in the the CP's
Lost+Found (this is actually an unwritten LSC policy). What's really
depressing is that I always catch myself trying to sneak a wallet into
my pocket without anyone seeing because I always feel like someone is
going to accuse me of stealing it. I know this is silly, but the society
we live in is very much like that (just ask any civil attorney how much
sueing goes on in this country).
