I was talking about emotional contrasts. Other forms of diversity, on the other hand, I embrace. Does anyone remember Dunbar from Catch-22? The one who was trying to become immortal by being maximally bored each second, which we all know causes time dilation and makes each second seem like a lifetime? Amusing, but not for me.
