Treatment for insect bites may include:
- oral antihistamine
- direct application of ice to the welts
- direct application of hydrocortisone cream and/or pain
relieving cream to the welts.
Here and there around the country there are insects that bite and at
first the bite seems like a mosquito bite, but it gets worse... The
violin spider, a southern California example, has a bite that itches at
first but is fatal if not treated.
You can also go around wearing mosquito netting all summer. Blech.
