it wasn't intended to be that way ... the *it* comes from the
not-so-rhetorical question.  i don't think of evidence of HIV infection
as *it* ... (in fact, i'd rather know i was infected than have
something and not know what it is ... and that's what this is all
about).

i did have it out with my doctor for not providing enough information.
something on the order of "look, you *don't* understand and you
haven't been paying attention.  these are the concerns ... " ... you
see, we were playing the "oh, it's not that, maybe it's this ... " and
treatment was dragging on forever.  totally unacceptable ... i
know that medicine isn't always the exact science we'd like it to be,
but bureaucracy (in the way of making appointments) was getting in the
way of progress, and he wasn't greasing the skids enough to make the
right thing happen ...

in a fit of understatement, i told him "the suspense was killing me."
as it turned out, my blood pressure reflected this. . . and when he
noticed the blood pressure i all but screamed at him.

aren't doctors wonderful?
