Many people have an ingrained fear of the unknown from their religious
upbringing. What happens after death is still quite unkown, and
western religions have concocted numerous fantasies to explain it...
but they can't make it look *too* good, or there *would* be more
people wanting suicide. On one hand, you have Heaven as a reward, but
Hell is there to prevent you from taking the "easy way out".
So it could indeed be said that "most people [are] deluded"
since their view of death is based on fantasy.
