I went to install simplemargins.sty in /usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros, but
before I did that, I wanted to find out where in sipbsrc it should be
installed in order to make sure that it would get installed again if
the sipb locker were recreated.
As I result of this I ended up doing quite a bit of digging, and
found that the following files currently installed in
/usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros are not found *anywhere* in the sipbsrc
volume that I can locate.
I have grouped the files by what I think should be done with them,
and plan on taking the actions I have indicated unless I hear
otherwise in about a week, so I would appreciate comments quickly.
Each group of files has comments directly after it.
Note 1: I have compiled this list by comm'ing an ls of
/usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros with an ls of
/afs/sipb/project/newsipb/usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros.
Note 2: There are some files in
/afs/sipb/project/newsipb/usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros that are not found
in /usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros; I am ignoring those for now, since I
consider missing files to be much more important than extra files.

I don't think we need these files at all, at least, we don't need
them installed in /usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros, and we probably don't need
them in sipbsrc either (although I'm not as sure about that). They
should be deleted, or moved into an out-of-the-way place (just in
case) for eventual deletion.

I don't know where these files came from, and don't know if we have
everything that they need to work installed as well. If we do, they
should be copied into ~sipbsrc/src/tex/local-style.
listing.sty
quiet.sty
resume.sty
These files look like they should be in local-style. Some of them
could use comments telling who wrote them/from where they were
obtained.

plain.fmt
slitex.log
splain.fmt
splain.log
tex.pool
I believe that .fmt and .pool files are now stored in different
directories than /usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros, so these should be deleted.
Also, we don't need .log files in /usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros in any
case.
zapfchancery.sty
zapfdingbats.sty
These look like they should have come from
~sipbsrc/src/dvi2ps/tex/macros, but they're not there. I don't know
where they came from, and they should probably be copied into
local-style or ~sipbsrc/src/dvi2ps/tex/macros.

Any help you can give figuring out what to do about these files will
be appreciated. Also, in the future, when you install something local
in /usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros, if it isn't anywhere else in sipbsrc (and
the default "make install" won't install in correctly) it should be
put in ~sipbsrc/src/tex/local-style.
