xscreensaver does not allow for arbitrary line breaks in the lock message.

This is now fixed (the changed version of xscreensaver will become
available to the public early in the morning on February 2).
In the new version Ctrl-Return accepts the value in the window,
rather than Return by itself, so you can type newlines in the lock
message. Furthermore, Ctrl-Delete will no cancel the new value, in
the same way the Ctrl-Return accepts.
Sorry it took so long for me to fix this, I've been very busy....
