The chatmaster is a somewhat unreliable program, hence the problems
you are experiencing; the "forum" and "irc" programs are probably a
bit more reliable, and have a much wider range (like, world-wide); if
you want to have a conversation only with Athena people, you can just
take it onto a separate channel in irc.
In any case, only a SIPB member with root access to one of our
server machines can restart the gameserver or the chatmaster, so
you'll just have to keep on sending mail to bug-sipb when it breaks...
