Everything in the pine4.conf file can be overridden by the user.
Be aware, though, that your .mailcap file also affects what
happens when you try to view urls (also the global mailcap file).
I'll try to give you a more detailed answer later tonight;
don't have a lot of spare time now. One comment, though: when
I have a text/html message, and hit Return on one of the hyperlinks,
the bottom of the screen prompts me:
View selected URL "http://web.mit.edu/" ?
Y [Yes] U editURL
N No A editApp
I would be interested in knowing what you see when you select
the "[A] editApp" option.
