I guess I'm the consult maintainer of xmcd. I originally installed
it as an alternative to workman for the suns. I never intended to support
other platforms. I didn't remove it before this because the consult version
seemed to work more reliably than the sipb version. If a reliable version
is installed in sipb I have no problem removing it from consult and
putting a script there to point people to the sipb locker. Also, cda
and the other xmcd related programs should be installed as well. (they
aren't in the audio locker)
