This happened again -- this time portmap wasn't running on either
charon or yaz-pistachio. I restarted them.
Perhaps someone with lots and lots of free time should look into
whether we'd be better off running one of the portmap versions from
ftp://ftp.win.tue.nl/pub/security/.
