The "kerberized" version of ftpd exists exactly to solve this problem.
In its current form it is ready to be installed on dialup (I believe.)
The big difference is that it will allow anyone who can get
kerberos tickets OR is in the passwd file to log in, and attach
random filesystems.
Opinions on whether I should install it?
