Dclock always does this; you don't need to mess with virtual desktops
or whatnot. I had a theory about it being intentional once (so you
could tell that it had gone off), but I think actually I investigated
it and it was a lot more stupid than that.
Hit `r' in the dclock window to reverse the colors again...
