I think the timing is bad; this is 3 days before the summer-term
thesis deadline. (I don't see the deadline in TechInfo, but I have a
printed "Academic Calendar June - September 1992" that says "August 7
Friday Theses due at Department Headquarters for ALL September degree
candidates.")

There will be users who either (a) won't read this, or (b) will have
no clue what it means. Also, what if e40-008-9 goes down next week?

I'm thinking mainly of the user who occasionally runs, say, idraw to
fix some figure in his thesis, while working from a non-Athena
machine. (In the worst case) they'll have no idea what's going on,
they'll conclude idraw stopped working, they're going to panic, they
won't be able to get idraw built locally in time to use it, etc.

I agree with the change, but I'd vote for postponing it one week.

Matt
