I know nothing about the Advocacy Institute so this is not specifically
about them but:
Just becuase a mailing shows up on more than one campus doesn't mean the
group is legitimate. If you ever have any questions about a group:
1. Ask the group for more information in writing and in particular their
annual report (as a side note, this is the fastest way to scare off bogus
phone solicitors).
2. Contact the Secretary of State, State Attorney, and/or Better Business
Bureau in the state the group is located in. If any problems have been
reported, these are the people who will probably know.
If someone claims to be doing something on behalf of some well known group
and there is no obvious association between that person and the group,
check it out with the group.
