Before I graduated from college, I was an active member of EZ chapter
at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Our chapter had no restrictions on
membership for graduate students. If an active member stayed at RPI for
Grad school, they could remain active. If a Brother came to us from another
chapter, they could immediately become active. (They would have sit with
another Brother from our chapter for an hour or so to learn how to run things
in our office such as the book exchange, campus lost and found, campus test
files, and day to day things like using our cash boxes (if you needed a small
amount of money for an event, there was a cash box that you could get money.
It was easier than bugging the treasurer for minor things all of the time.))
Getting back to the original line here. We did allow Grad students to
pledge, and we have had a number of them do so. We have even had some
grad students pledge and then hold office. As far as membership fees go,
they would be regarded as active members and therefore pay the $8 National
Fee and (I believe,) the $50 life member fee.
