HI everyone!!!!
Well, here it is, like I promised. Here is what I have been planning out
for the past few weeks, with the help of Senior Dem and Charlie Z. Please
take time to read this, and send me your replies. THis letter is a few weeks
old, but it still has most of the important things in it. If you're on both
apo and aposoc, you'll get this twice, because I'm cross-posting it. :)
Please, I would really love to do this, but I will need all of the help I can
get from any brother. Send me any comments, ideas, or critiques you have.
Thanks a lot everyone-hope you like it! (More after the letter-it is somewhat
long. :) )

Well....okay. I'll tell you about my wonderful, fabulaous idea that could go
down in Torch and Trefoil. (How's that for an opening? :) )
My idea is a variation of AIDS quilt, only it would be an Alpha Phi Omega
National Quilt. Each chapter would have their own square, (I've already figured
out size, materials, etc.), and we would put them together at different times.
What I hope to do is have whichever chapter houses the fall Sectionals to
collect the squares. Then, they would be sewn togethere into larger Sectional
squares. Then, at Regionals, they would be sewn together into Regional squares,
and be put on hold for about a year. Finally, at Nationals, the 10 regional
squares would be sewn together into one large quilt.
Now, for the reason I'd like to do this. :) Well, up at SUNY Siberia, we're
pretty lonley. At times it's hard to belive that we have brothers in Ohio, let
alone say, California. The symbolism behind the Quilt is to show that even
though we, as brothers, are spread out around the US and beyond, we will always
be together by the bonds of Service and Friendship, and it is these bonds that
will never be broken amoung us. Also, I know that there will be newly chartered
chapters and petitioning groups at Nationals as well. They would be asked to
make a square as well, and these would be sewn into a smaller square to be
added to the completed Quilt, to show that no matter how large we may become
as a National Fraternity, we will always need people to help strengthen the
bonds of the Brotherhood.
Whew! I told you it was a big idea....:) I'm in the process of writing a letter
to an addres that Warren gave me, and so I should be getting a reply next week.
I'll let you know how it goes. (Keep your fingers crossed for me.) What I have
to think of now is how I would like to distribute things. (Who would remeind the
chapters about the squares, help out at Nationals...etc. I know that I would
need a lot of help!) But, what do you think? Do you like it? Any comments?
Ideas? Oh yes, and I would be sending out letters to the different alumni groups
of APO also, because we can never forget the people before us. I'm open to all
ideas and critiques.

Well, there you go. I'll use my "formal" .sig., so my codes are below.
What do you think, everyone? Either reply back to me, or for aposoc, we can
always talk about it over the net. :)

Tracey
