Yesterday, at about 4:00 PM, the Delta Nu chapter was re-chartered at
Yale University, when the charter and re-charter Certificate were
presented by Lorin Jurvis, Past Delta Nu President and Past National
Preseident. The new chapter includes twenty-one actives (no seniors!),
one new alumnus, and six advisors, one of whom was an advisor to the
original chapter! The ritual was conducted by brothers from their big
brother chapter (Delta Sigma; University of Connecticut). Visitors to
the event included brothers and pledges from Delta Sigma, Epsilon Delta
(Cental Conn. State U.), Zeta Upsilon (Boston U.), Alpha Chi (MIT),
and Alpha Delta Alpha (Rutgers-Camden), Alpha Phi (Wash. U.), Omicron
Iota (WPI) and the "old" Delta Nu chapter, and Staff Members from
Section 96 and Section 97 (New York City area), (including three former
and current Section 97 chairs!) Congratulations to all the new brothers!
May Delta Nu chapter ever stand united!
This brings the number of chapters in Section 96 up to nine, with a new
petitioning group expected within a week (at the Berklee College of
Music in Boston)! Interestingly enough, Delta Nu is by some counts the
second oldest chapter in the section! (They will be recognized for
their fiftieth anniversary in a little more than three years! 12/15/96)
