Kennedy's Honorary Brotherhood, I contacted the Kennedy Presidential Library. According to their information, in 1961, President Kennedy accepted Honorary membership in Eta Phi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at American University. A later offer by the Epsilon Mu chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at University of Maryland, College Park in February of 1963 was declined. In those files we found a letter from the White House dated 28 February 1963 declining membership in the Alpha Phi Omega chapter at the University of Maryland (offer letter dated 20 February). President Kennedy did, apparently, accept membership in the Alpha Phi Omega chapter at American University (eta phi chapter).
