Brother Hector Acevedo is an alumnus of Omicron Nu chapter at University of
Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras. He served Secretary of State for the Governor of
Puerto Rico from 1985-1988 and Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico from
1988-1996. In 1996 he ran for Governor of Puerto Rico as the candidate of
the Popular Democratic Party (PDD) receiving 44% of the vote, losing to Dr.
Pedro Rosello. He is currently a professor at Interamerican University of
Puerto Rico and serves as Vice President of the BSA Puerto Rican Council.
