Randy,

I know Zeta Chapter (Stanford University) prides itself on having the
"first" female brother, Beth Hesselmeyer.  Other chapters have made claims
that they were earlier, but I don't think this has ever been resolved.
Anyway, I know they had female advisors (who do count as brothers, of
course) in the 50's, and I know Beth was a legal brother (using the first
initial trick) at least in 1974, possibly earlier (she graduated in 1976).
