>(external to APO, goes by another name & requires 50 hours of youth service in a year)?

The award you are thinking of is the President's Volunteer Service Award, formerly called the President's Student Service Award.

You can visit the website for the award at: http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/

The award has several levels, but the minimum requires 100 hours of service within a 12 month period. Service must be in the areas of Youth Achievement, Parks & Open Spaces, Healthy Communicates, and Public Safety & Emergency Response.

If you check the site, you will see that YOU are responsible for entering in your own time, and your 'sponsoring group' (ie your chapter) then verifies your time.

Well, it depends on how you look at this stuff as service hours or not. I personally wouldn't count meetings as service hours. Fundraisers are a gray area, and would certainly only count it if I did work.

Well, its it volunteer work at camp or are you being paid?

Hope this helps
