On the night of Friday, April 16th, Marist College hosted their first
American Cancer Society Relay for Life and raised over $25,000. Our
extension effort there formed Team Alpha Phi Omega and raised $1453.61
toward the fight against cancer! A fun time was had by all.
A few weeks ago we raised $160 and collected 4 rubbermaids full of food for
a local food pantry. One of our Brothers from New Paltz helped us with this
project.
We made Valentine's Day cards for a local nursing home earlier this
semester. They got so many cards from us, they were able to even give cards
to the staff working there.
On May 1st, we will be helping Dutchess County Habitat for Humanity. Anyone
that would like to join us, please drop me an e-mail before Thursday, April
29 because they need a headcount prior to the event to provide lunches.
We just started forming in January, and already are providing great service
to our local community. Section 88 is very proud to have such wonderful
people interested in joining APO!!
