Dear Brothers:
As we approach the end of the semester, it is vitally important that all
Chapters double check that their membership records are up to date and to make
sure that all spring (and fall) pledge and active initiation fees and forms are
submitted to the National Office before everyone leaves campus in just a few
weeks.
Pledge and active initiation fees and forms need to be sent to the National
Office as your new Brothers are not officially Brothers unless they are
recorded at the National Office.
In addition, please forward a list of those Brothers who will be graduating
this spring or summer as well as the contact information for those Brothers
who have been elected to serve as Chapter Officers for Fall 2004. This
information can be sent to the National Office in care of Judy Mitchell at
chapter.services.dir@apo.org.
Also, if there are members of your Chapter who have not received their
membership cards and certificates from fall 2003, chances are that their membership
forms and fees have not been received at the National Office. Please check
with your Sectional Chair or Regional Director to make sure that all of your
Chapter's fall and spring paperwork is up to date.
With the National Convention coming up at the end of year, it is important
that all Chapters ensure their membership paperwork is up to date so that your
Chapter is in good standing.
Also, don't forget to have your Chapter submit its Spring Service Day report
to the National Office. Even if your Chapter did not do a Spring Service Day
project, a report is required to be filed to keep your Chapter in good
standing. Visit www.apo.org or contact National Service/Communication Program Director
Carla Moran at service.director@apo.org for more information.
With summer right around the corner, now is the time to register for the
various APO LEADS programs and Leadership Institutes which will be held around the
nation. Check out www.apo.org for more details or contact Leadership
Development Program Director Lisa Covi at leadership.director@apo.org. These
Leadership Development programs are a great way to improve your skills to help your
Chapter succeed next fall as well as to meet, share ideas and to network with
Brothers from other Chapters.
Finally, all Chapters and registered Alumni Associations have been sent a
membership survey. This is part of a National Convention directive and we would
like all Chapters and registered Alumni Associations to participate as this
information will be used by the Membership Task Force to prepare a report for the
Denver Convention.
For your convenience, Chapters and Alumni Associations (as well as Life
Members not affiliated with an Alumni Association) can fill out the survey online
at www.apo.org. The deadline to participate in the survey is May 15, 2004.
Good Luck on your exams in a few weeks and I look forward to seeing many of
you next fall and at the National Convention in Denver in December.
Yours in Leadership, Friendship and Service,
Ed Richter
