Hubert Utterback, selected as a member of the National Executive Board of
Alpha Phi Omega at the 5th Biennial Convention in Kansas City in December of
1934, had been an Associate Justice of the Iowa State Supreme Court (Dec
1932 - Apr 1933) and as the time of his election as a member of the National
Executive Board had been elected (but not yet seated) as a member of the US
Congress. He served one term (Jan 1935-Jan 1937) and rather than seek
renomination to his house seat was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination
to US Senate. Died in 1942. Additional information at
