It was asked:
>What's the difference between your pledge manual and your pledge book?

The Pledge Manual is a book available from the National Fraternity FREE to all Chapters. It's a professionally printed manual and also available from the National website (and Chapter Resource CD) in PDF format. ALL Chapters should be giving this manual, preferable the printed one from National, to all their pledges. (if your chapter is not using this book, shame on you.)

Because the Pledge Manual is 3-hole punched, most Chapters have a "Pledge Book" or "Pledge Notebook". This is a 3-ring binder with ALL the materials the pledge needs, and would typically include the Pledge Manual, National Bylaws, Chapter Bylaws, Chapter History, Chapter Roster, etc. This is the book that pledges are usually expected to carry around with them while being a pledge, as it contains all the info they are learning as well as serving as their record of service (keep track of service hours, interviews/signatures, etc). This is noted as #15 of the National Pledging Standards.
