Brothers,

Perhaps I should give a little bit more information on my questions. My
family was doing a bit of geneological research and came a cross a
relatively distant relative whose obituary said that they were members of
two chemistry fraternities, Alpha Phi Omega, and one other. I am trying to
figure out if this is a misprint, as I have never heard of a chemistry
fraternity by that name. If it is a misprint and he was actually in APO,
the service fraternity, then he would have had to have been a very early
member, as he graduated from North Dakota State University in 1929 and from
the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 1933 (hence my questions).
From Randy's information, it looks like he wasn't in APO, unless he was an
advisor to another chapter later (a possibility, because he did teach at a
couple of schools, but I would have to look up where).

Randy, can you send me any additional information you have on these
other Alpha Phi Omega organizations? Thanks,

Chris Stromberg

According to the national history book, Alpha Lambda chapter at NDSU
chartered on November 7th, 1934. This is chronologically between the
chapters before and after it. Gamma Psi at U of Minnesota - TC chartered
April 18th, 1942. Also chronologically between the chapters before and after
it.

From my time reading through copies of Baird Manual of American College
Fraternities, I remember 4 or 5 schools that had local Alpha Phi Omega
fraternities at one time or another. U of MN is one and NDSU is another.
Ripon College is yet another. One of the others was in Georgia but I don't
remember where.

Note, I really wish there were chartering dates on the National website
somewhere as well.

Brothers,

I am trying to track down some information on particular chapters. In
particular, I am trying to figure out when the chapters at North Dakota
State University and University of Minnesota - Twin Cities ORIGINALLY
chartered. If anyone has that information or knows where I can find it (I
can't seem to find charter dates on the national web site, and neither of
these chapters have their own site), please let me know. Also, if there is
anyone on this list from those two chapters, please drop me a line. Thanks.

Chris Stromberg
