You're playing with a whole new ballgame with fiances. I would think this
situation would be a bit more kosher than the potential risks of dating
between pledgemater and pledge. My only caveat is that your VP of
membership acts professionally as an exec and does not make any biased
decisions favoring his fiancee over other pledges. It's a balancing act
and one that he needs to be careful with as not to upset the other future
pledges.
Other than that, you don't have to worry about the problems of chapter
politics getting ugly if the couple breaks up. (I'm not saying an engaged
couple can't break up, but the risks of that happening are less likely) I
don't think any chapter will tell you they have policies in place because
we're all not stupid. APO is a co-ed fraternity and dating relationships
naturally happen, regardless of chapter position or status. Execs just
have to be really careful that the union or (even worse, the breakup) don't
upset the political balance in the chapter.
