Administrative notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start: 7:38 pm; End: 8:10 pm Present: Carolyn, Ellen, Emily, Lokie,
Sam, Ian, Nitin, Ari, Jake, Foley, Eric Downes, Sara P., Sara B., Alan
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Sam): We had a lovely Conclave. People did stuff. We also
had a lovely project. We picked up stuff by the riverside of the
Charles. Thanks to all who showed up. This weekend, there's
no project; setup and takedown count [as separate projects?].
The week after, we'll be having a day project with the chapter
at BU at Camp Favorites. I will be sending out e-mail about
that. Project SCORE is on the 22nd; e-mail Jen Shieh for in-
formation. The weekend after that is Chapter Weekend II, and
I'm frantically calling scout camps to find a location for it, as
right now there is now. Afterwards there will be more projects;
I have contacts.
MVP (Ann Marie): not present due to prefrosh, report as channelled
by Carolyn: The pledge exit interviews start Saturday. Bigs and
littles, start picking dates! If you have any questions, e-mail me.
FVP (Joe): I was out of town. Steak Fry invites went out last
night/this morning. I finally have people to sub-PC. It's on
Sunday 7pm at Next House Country Kitchen. I'm in charge
of the meat, Susama's cooking the veggie option. We'll try to
get kosher stuff as well. Sara [Pickett] is doing "other," and
[Jonathon Weiss] is grilling. Davidmac is taking care of the auc-
tion. Grilling equipment. [AC: huh?] Please sign up and send
me e-mail. Sign up for T-shirts as well. The Fellowship Militia
is puting out a knives order. They have strange stuff. If you
come up with more strange stuff we should order, tell me.
Treasurer (Oscar): not present, report as channelled by Carolyn:
Pay your dues. You can put in in the strong box tonight. It's
$20 for pledges, $25 for elevation fees, and $20 for brothers.
AC (Ian): Minutes submitted in the form of APOetry:
Minutes aren't out yet but they'll be;
Drop posters and spotlights are dancing;
Gingham.
APOcEd (Nitin): The second issue is out. Pick up your copy. Send
me articles for the next issue.
OM (David): The office is reasonably dirty. There's a set of books
labelled Book Ex by the board. Alan says it's a fire hazard.
Sara P. helped me to exchange the locations of the mailbox and
the paints, because drop poster customers were carrying off the
paints by themselves. The [arrangement] will likely stay that
way.
PubDir (Lokie): Some of the drop poster people are stupid and an-
noying. We have black and replaced some blue. I labelled some
sets of paints that are complete and ready [to use].
Historian (Jake): We have pictures from Chapter Weekend I, pledge
ceremonies, etc. I think there are no pictures taken at Conclave
[Ari, Sara P.: we did.]. I'm happy to take interesting pictures of
people and to reimburse [the photographers] for them.
Advisory Comm. Chair (Ellen): Hi.
President (Carolyn): There was this Conclave thing. We have a
chapter. People should go to events and meet the pledges.
Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conclave Exploratory (Emily): We are now the Conclave Commit-
tee.
Conclave: Our Conclave will be April 6-8, 2001. It will be lots of
happy fun. We have a meeting after this. We'll need sub-PC's,
such as an Administrative Chair to handle registration forms,
file them in an orderly manner, and take minutes at meetings.
You don't have to do this for a full year; you can switch with
someone else. See me if you are interested. [AC: Ari is now
Conclave Admin. Chair.] If you want to be added to the mailing
list, let me know.
Book Ex (Emily): The Book Ex books in the office should be going
away soon.
Coke (Emily): Be careful to put down tick marks. Oscar will glare
at me if you don't.
Conclave voting delegates (Carolyn): At the Section 96 meeting,
Mims was re-elected Section Chair. Quinnipiac got a vote of
confidence, and will have a chartering ceremony on May 7. Talk
to me if you wish to go. Mims did a cartwheel; it was rather
impressive.
There'll be Chapter Program Workshops (CPW) this summer;
they're cool. One will be in Connecticut in June, with others
around [the country]. If you're interested, the deadline is May
1. The Easton Event at LaFayette College is in mid-July [and
also has a deadline of May 1?].
As for the 75 for the 75th, we inadvertently put $75 in pennies for
the penny war; they came from the safe after UMOC. Try to get
brothers to chip in [I put in $75 so we could get the pennies]. If
you're interested, give me money. Also, Region I wants 75 new
life memberships for the 75th as well. If we're successful, we
get to throw Cheryl (Smith) into the pool at Nationals. Please
consider it. They lowered the alumni fees for the 75th. Nationals
is after Christmas in Philadelphia_you do all want to go, really
[bouncy]. September 28 is the deadline for submitting Nationals
legislation.
The Sectionals Treasury is up to about $1700.
Sectional Advisory Council (Carolyn): We've been going to Ya-
hoo! chat rooms. We approved some guidelines; we're officially
sanctioned to plan interchapter [events].
ScrewComm (Davidmac): Big Screw's happening. I just sent e-
mail. Totals are around $300. Hopefully it'll pick up. Currently
Neal Dorow is in the lead. We haven't acquired the screw yet.
[Sam says it's being held hostage right now, and the professor
wants to present it to the next recipient.] Time and date is not
yet set for awards. We have lots of posters.
Big Screw Publicity (Sara P.): We had a Tech ad, and we'll have
an LSC slide. The drop poster happened, and I postered places.
Old Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
None.
New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ian: I feel refreshed.
Conclave Chair (Emily): I move that the chapter allocate $500 for
Conclave reservations and repay the chapter when we start to
make money in the spring.
Ari: I move that we refer the decision to FinComm.
Emily: Second.
Motion passes by white ballot.
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Big Screw (Davidmac): Big Screw is happening. Work at the booth.
We need Friday morning workers at 10 am.
Conclave Chair (Emily): Meeting after this.
FVP (Joe): Fellowship Militia meeting next week [Tuesday].
Big Screw (Davidmac): ScrewComm after Militia.
Coke Chair (Emily): CokeComm after ScrewComm in my room at
ET.
SVP (Sam): There's another project_Project Linus_in the office.
We're making blankets for kids with leukemia after Big Screw.
FVP (Joe): There's the Random Acts of Fellowship Board. People
can look for stuff to PC. Fill in your name for some date. We
can get more fellowship. Yay!
Sara P.: I went to the Food Bank's web site earlier. The only service
opportunity where they'll take 70 people is in the morning. If
you want another project, we can go on a weekday. Any day
except Monday or Wednesday, I can lead a project there.
Alan: I'm printing this weekend. If someone's interested, feel free to
come by Saturday to ask questions.
PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
Ari: The 24-hour post office at South Station is still there, [but] the
Big Dig is scary.
Emily: Give me the brain, I forgot what PFTGOTO is.
David: We should suck in the prefrosh.
Carolyn: Overnight mail sent Sunday arrives on Tuesday.
Foley: Building 19 has lots of stuff and waiters [?]. I'm no longer in
the U.K.
Emily: If this were Intercal, this would be a PFTCOMEFROM.
Sara P.: Any project can become a project with waiters if you try.
Ian: Don't [use?] my big. Buffer overflow.
Lokie: 4.301 really really sucks!
