Hola mis hermanos!
There's still time to e-mail me with interest in participating in
Project SCORE!!! E-mail me by Thursday, April 20 if you want to be
registered as part of the APO group!!! There's more information about
Project SCORE below, but basically:
Date: Saturday, April 22nd
Time: 10 am
Place: Meet at 54-100
We can meet in the APO office beforehand, if people would like to do that.
If you don't sign up with me, they do accept walk-ins, so don't think that
it's ever too late to join in the excitement! Even if it's for lunch and
the service project! And if you would like to register yourself, then feel
free to do so as well!! Hope to hear from y'all soon!!!!
YoursinLookingForwardtoprojectScore,
Jennifer Shieh

Organized by Order of Omega, a campus leadership honor society.
Co-sponsored by the Chinese Students Club, the National Society of Black
Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the
Korean Students Association.
***What is SCORE?***
The purpose of SCORE is to allow a diverse group of MIT students an
opportunity to work together in a day of community service and to discuss how
race relations impacts our daily lives and our communities. Participants
will be composed of members from various ethnic, cultural, living group, and
interest groups at MIT and other campuses.
The project will begin with a short breakfast at MIT for participants,
currently followed by speakers and small facilitated discussion groups. This
year, our speakers are Jane Gould, Episcopal Chaplain and Coordinator of the
Technology and Culture Forum at MIT, and Associate Prof. Ceasar McDowell of
the Urban Studies and Planning Department and director of the Center for
Reflective Community Practice. And there's lunch! =)
The afternoon will be spent in small groups doing service in non-profit
organizations in the greater Boston and Cambridge area. Some of this year's
hosts include the Alliance for Animals Clinic, the Cambridge Community Center,
the CASPAR Emergency Shelter, the Boston Rescue League, La Allianza Hispania,
and more!!!
It's going to be a great event!!! We welcome everyone, but we would
prefer you to pre-register yourself and your group such that we can better
plan with our resources.
Thanks so much!!! And we'll see you Saturday the 22cnd!!!
