domain, along with alot of other W92 servers, will be down tomorrow
morning:

Subject: W92 computer room outage Saturday 10/13, 6-9AM
Beginning at 6AM Saturday 10/13, all systems in the W92
IS computer facility will be shut down in order to complete
electrical work outstanding since the building renovation.
Major systems affected (will not work) will be:
Much Athena file service (but not main system software)
Athena printing
Athena "dialup" servers
MIT.EDU email service (including post office servers)
WEB.MIT.EDU web servers
Logging into the WIN.MIT.EDU domain (Pismere)
MIT.EDU DNS service and MITnet connectivity outside of the
W92 computer room WILL NOT be affected.
System restoration will begin by 9AM, but probably earlier.
We regret any inconvenience this will cause; the work is
unavoidable and critical to the long-term reliable operation
of the computing facility.
Progress notes may be found at http://nic.mit.edu/3down/
which will not be affected by the shutdown.
