is now running debian unstable. I summarily nuked the D/UX (Tru64? OSF/1)
install on the basis of belmonte, mwhitson, and golem saying that it was ok
with them, and because I was under the impression that it didn't work
anyway, and because the machine was switched off.

I suppose if someone is actually motived to create a *working* install of
D/UX, they can always grab an extra disk. [This may be true for other
operating systems as well.]

I couldn't seem to get the Expensive Video Card working with X under linux,
so we pulled an unused Matrox Millenium II out of deathtongue [betcha you
were wondering why licks was copied on this] and it is now happily running
X at a reasonable resolution. I handed the Expensive Video Card to the
chairman in the hopes that he would do something useful with it.

Of course, no one can log into it because (among other reasons) we don't
have AFS yet.

A new kernel and AFS modules are building as we speak so that we can
rectify this. Once it's a vaguely useful login head again we'll move the
monitor back down into the head spot.

Share and Enjoy.
