GAZA CITY, Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip (UPI) -- Three Arabs were found
dead in a cesspool Friday after being hacked up and shot by Islamic
fundamentalists who termed them ``collaborators'' with Israeli
authorities, officials said.
A strike force of the fundamentalist Islamic Resistance Movement
claimed responsibility for the slayings, writing in wall graffiti that
the victims had ``collaborated with the Shin-Bet, conducted
relationships with Palestinian prostitutes, committed robbery and killed
other Palestinians.''
The Shin-Bet is Israel's secretive internal security agency, and its
operatives obtain data on activists of the Palestinian intifada, or
uprising.
The dead were identified as Nahed Yassin, Abdel Hakim Gandar, and
Abed Moussa.
Their deaths brought to 50 the number of Palestinians slain this year
by an array of Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, in Jebalya refugee camp, six Palestinians were slightly
injured in clashes with soldiers after mosque prayers for the Muslim al-
Fitr holiday, according to an army spokesman.
Soldiers and demonstrators clashed Thursday night in the town of
Rafah, near the Egyptian border, when residents held a march in memory
of four youths killed the previous day during a confrontation with
soldiers.
An army spokesman said 17 people were wounded, but local residents
said 80 people were hurt.
Separately, 16 soldiers serving in the Gaza Strip abandoned their
unit to protest ``humiliations'' by their commanding officer, the
Ma'ariv daily newspaper reported.
The soldiers complained of being worn out by a combination of
overnight guard duty and lengthy patrols, the newspaper said.
