aras (Sheldon Robinson):
I need to know...
...I have to know. I must know and understand.
I do not know...what to say? I'll stay...I'll do...
...anything. Would you believe the truth?
Would you believe in love?
What is love? Have you felt it before? I
never have. I can't understand. I won't complain.
You are not wrong. I've done you wrong! I am...
...sorry. I'm sad and lost. You feel this too?
I am pathetic.
This can't be enough. This cannot compare.
It doesn't reach high or far...to catch you...
when you fall. I must be there. I will be
there...soon. Please wait. Please...wait.
I'll try! I will. Where are you? Don't
cry...I've cried. I have. I'll smile, then
a tear will show. Did you know? Do you
understand? Can you believe?
I'll write more...I'll write forever, if it
helps? I don't feel relief. What do I do now?
What do I do now? Do I go away...again? Should
I stay? Can I come?
Will this work? It's all my fault. The sun
will rise on a new day...and maybe love will
be there? I will be there and I will love you.
I do. It will not be a dream. It is what I
have seen.
I cannot stay...away. I cannot fly. I cannot
sleep. I cannot die. I like the real better than
the fake...the dream. I feel ill. Are you high?
Do you know? Do you understand? I hope.
My life, myself...my humility...they do not compare.
I will try...I promise. I do. I understand if you
...cannot believe? Life will go on. The light of
the early morning sun could be better. The life of
the two combined into one...could be love.

GREENSBURG, Pa. (UPI) -- A couple whose daughter was killed in the
1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 smuggled a fake bomb aboard a domestic
USAir flight to test airport security, a published report said Friday.
Glenn and Carole Johnson smuggled a piece of deactivated Semtex
plastic explosive, tucked in their carry-on luggage, past airport
security last weekend in Boston, then boarded a flight to Pittsburgh,
the Tribune-Review newspaper reported in a copyright story.
The Johnson's daughter, Beth Ann, was one of the 270 people killed in
the Pan Am bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, Dec. 21, 1988. Semtex is
the same type of explosive that investigators believe blew a hole in the
plane.
``Not only did it get past security, they didn't even look at the X-
ray screen,'' said Glenn Johnson of Hempfield. ``I was hoping security
would look at it and not question it, but they didn't even see it.''
Carole Johnson said a security guard turned away from the screen as
their bags were moving through the device. She said at first she felt
like someone who had gotten away with a childish prank.
``The more I thought about it, the madder I got,'' she said.
The Johnsons said they boarded USAir Flight 525 at Logan
International Airport in Boston to Greater Pittsburgh International
Airport after visiting a firm in Waltham, Mass., that makes airport
security equipment.
The firm, Vivid Technologies Inc., gave them 12 ounces of Semtex,
which was harmless because it had been hardened, they said. The Johnsons
said they smuggled it undetected aboard the plane.
The ``experiment'' is part of an nationwide effort by the group,
Families of the Victims of Pan Am Flight 103, to test the boasts of
airports and airlines that security has improved since the bombing,
allegedly by terrorists based in Libya, the Johnsons said.
``The Federal Aviation Administration always says these are isolated
incidents,'' Johnson said. ``They're 1 in a billion shots.''
The Johnsons said members of their organization were given lead-lined
photography bags to test airport security procedures whenever they
travel. Johnson said 56 members are carrying the plastic-coated bags as
they travel across the nation.
Johnson said the bag should appear as a ``nice big, black hole'' on
the monitoring screens and should raise the suspicion of security
guards.
By publicizing these security lapses, the organization hopes to
embarrass airports and the FAA into making more improvements in
security, Johnson said.

I was flying in my Eagle yesterday (out of San Carlos, CA) and had
the following exchange with ground control:
ATIS: ... Notice to airmen: Caution, MOA operating west of the field ...
["What?" I say to myself. In the middle of the San Francisco Bay Area??]
Me: San Carlos ground, Eagle 19MG ready to taxi, Mike row with hotel.
Can you tell me the story on the MOA, or will I have to ask someone else?
Ground: 19MG, taxi to runway 30. It's between Bravo and Charlie taxiways,
should be no factor.
[Now I'm *really* confused. But then I figure it out.]
Me: OH ... You mean a MOWER. I thought you meant an M-O-A.
[No response.]
Me: You can imagine my confusion.
And now I hear the laughter coming from the tower ...
