I'm shocked and dismayed. To think the cows my friends and I were out
riding just this May were brutally beheaded!
Things I miss about Boston/MIT:
Inconsistent weather. In Houston it is consistently humid. At least
in Boston there is some variety.
The Julius Stratton Student Center. The equivalent building at Rice
has no coffeehouse, no store like LaVerde's, no Barber, or Tailor, or
(whimper) arcade. It closes frequently.
Sbarro's pizza. They have outlets here, but the pizza is crappy
compared to the stuff I used to get at Kendall Square.
The atmosphere. I guess this one's not much of a surprise, but there
is a dynamism about MIT that this place lacks.
I don't want to come off as a complainer, there are some things about
this place I prefer (my field of study, for one), but not being able
to get anything to eat at 1 AM or play video games anywhere near
campus is annoying.
